Gulf Coast Native Sheep

from $200.00

Very limited stock available each year. For best results please email us ahead of time and sign up for our waiting list.

Gulf Coast Native sheep are listed as Critically Endangered on the Livestock Conservancy’s list of rare breeds.

We love these sheep for their hardiness, thriftiness, excellent mothering traits, easy lambing, and stellar foraging abilities. Our management styles encourage our stock to propagate their natural parasite resistance, although we cannot guarantee they are completely immune from parasites.

Our lines are known for excellent wool production as well. They require shearing once a year. Staple length ranges from 3-6 inches, and is uneven throughout the fleece. Softness ranges from next to skin to soft outerwear.
